Abbie, a second-year Law student at Queen's University Belfast has recently told us about how she has started coming to the McClay library to stay warm, and is only in her university house, located on Wellesley Avenue, for essentials, such as eating, washing and sleeping. She explained that the heating in her house is "incredibly temperamental" and "works when it wants to".
This isn't an issue exclusive to just Abbie but one that is widespread in all university areas around Belfast, with many students resorting to university buildings such as libraries as a means of keeping warm, especially during the night and throughout the colder months of the year.
