The council have recently announced that all cones placed in the densely populated Holylands area are to be fitted with small trackers to reduce cone thefts by drunken students. The council have stated how the area has the highest number of cone thefts in the country and contributes all of them to disorderly students who find fun in stealing them and bringing them home.
Cones which are successfully tracked back to a house in the residential area will result in the occupants of the house receiving a small fine. The council hope this new measure makes students think twice before adding a new accessory to their living rooms.
